Upcoming event for Women of Faith!
On Saturday, April 9th @ 6:30 pm we will be meeting in the Step Up room for our Book Exchange and Fellowship night.
Here's the plan:
Go through your book shelves and find those books you are done with that are only collecting dust. Bring them to the Book Exchange for someone else to enjoy! Acceptable books would be anything Christian, inspirational, cookbooks or home and garden. Things to not acceptable would be a Harlequin romance and the like (that goes without sayin, right?? LOL) You can start bringing them to the church NOW. There will be a box near the nursery to leave them in.
For a $5 donation, fill a grocery bag with new books... well new to you!! The money collected will go to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Melvindale (they could really use it right now).
If everyone could bring some junk food to pass, that would be great. I will provide beverages. We will also play some board games, maybe watch a comedy DVD, just hang out and have fun!
We have never done this before. Sounds fun, huh?
It will be better than Oprah's book club!!

Preach it!
Favorite quote from this weeks homework in the Beth Moore bible study I am currently doing...
"We are challenged to overcome prejudices on many levels, certainly not just race. Economics divide. Denominations divide. Ministries divide. Differences will always exist, but division doesn't always have to result".
Preach it Beth!

Spring Ahead
This weekend is Daylight Savings. We "spring ahead" our clocks and loose an hour of sleep. But ohhh what
a small price to pay for what lies ahead! Longer days, sunnier skies, green grass and flowers. No more boots and mittens, it's time for pedicure's and flip flops! Well, almost!
The word of God says He changes times and seasons. Not just in nature, but in our lives as well. Today I feel a mix of emotions as seasons change around me. Not just winter to spring. But changes in life. In these last few weeks I have friends celebrating their 20 year wedding anniversary, and friends contemplating ending their union. I have a friend who got the biopsy report that showed no cancer. And I went to a funeral. I spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon in my nice house with a dear friend. We laughed and ate brownies while people in Japan are suffering. Seasons.
There is a time and a purpose for everything. For seasons in nature, and seasons in life. We won't always know what is to come, but we do know that God is there. In the midst of every change in life, and none of it is a surprise to Him! We put our hope in Him, he is the anchor for our soul!
My hope is that we will share together the seasons of our lives. Sisters in Christ, fully devoted to Him. Join me on this journey in life. Lets spring ahead together!
